When added to glaze slurry, it significantly enhances grinding efficiency and boosts the fluidity of the glaze slurry. Moreover, it fortifies the raw glaze strength while minimizing drying shrinkage, ensuring the glaze adheres solidly to the body and remains intact. The inclusion of Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) imparts excellent water retention properties, promoting uniform drying of the glaze layer. This results in a consistently flat and dense glaze surface, which, upon firing, transforms into a smooth, flawless finish.
